What is the Salesforce Security Owner and how do I change it?
Each connected Eventbrite organization has a Salesforce Security Owner. This user becomes the owner of the Eventbrite events and orders the integration syncs, and of any leads, contacts, accounts, campaigns or opportunities it creates. Combined with your Salesforce sharing settings, this controls who can see those records.
Note: The Security Owner is not the same as the sync user, which runs the background sync.
Requirements
The Security Owner needs the following:
• An active Salesforce user.
• One of our permission sets. Standard Access is enough. Full Access is only needed if this person also manages Eventbrite settings.
• Access to standard objects your mappings create. If you create leads, contacts, accounts or opportunities from Eventbrite, the user needs at least Read access to those objects through their profile or another permission set.
Note: Who else can see these records depends on your org-wide defaults and sharing rules for our Eventbrite objects and the standard Salesforce objects. Set these to fit your organization's needs. These settings are managed by your Salesforce administrator and sit outside what the integration controls.
Changing the Security Owner
1. In Salesforce, go to the Eventbrite settings tab and open Sync Settings.
2. In the Connected Eventbrite Organizations table, click the dropdown next to the connection.
3. Select Change Salesforce Owner, choose the user, then click Change Owner.
Note: To update existing events and orders to the new owner, run a Full Eventbrite sync from Sync Settings. Records outside your storage settings, and leads, contacts, accounts, campaigns or opportunities that were already created, keep their current owner. These can be reassigned with standard Salesforce tools such as Mass Transfer Records or Data Loader.
