Why can a user not disconnect another user's Dropbox account?

Disconnecting another user's Dropbox connection is an admin-only action. It requires the Dropbox Admin permission set. A user without it will see a message that admin permission is required to disconnect other users.

Every user can disconnect their own Dropbox account from the File Manager's connection settings, whichever permission set they have. Disconnecting someone else is done from Account Details, which lists the connected users in the org and is only visible to Dropbox Admin users.

This is deliberate. Disconnecting a user revokes their Dropbox connection and removes their folder mappings, and because seats are counted from connected accounts it also affects your billing. It is the kind of action you want restricted to administrators, typically for offboarding a leaver or freeing up a seat.

Note: If an administrator cannot see Account Details at all, they are missing the Dropbox Admin permission set, or a custom permission set without the Dropbox Admin custom permission enabled. See the related article below.
