  • This guide shows how to install and setup the application. It is primarily aimed at Salesforce consultants and system administrators.
  • There are two easy steps:

    1. Install
    2. Page Setup & Connection

Installation

Before making any purchase decisions, we recommend trying our application. You can install our product directly in your Salesforce production or sandbox org.

  • Installation in production will start a free, fully-featured 14-day trial.
  • Installing in a sandbox provides a trial that will last indefinitely, but is for the sole purpose of testing.
Salesforce has a standard installation process for all applications. The interactive guide below will take you through the installation process. You can also check our Salesforce AppExchange listing.

The integration works with the following Salesforce editions, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited. It works in both Salesforce Classic and Lightning user interfaces, and you can install it in your Salesforce production, sandbox, or developer orgs.

Page Setup & Connection

To use Dropbox for Salesforce you need to add our component to your page layouts.  Once you have done that, for the first time you will be asked to connect to Dropbox.

Page Setup & Connection

Once connected we will create the following folders in your Dropbox account

Salesforce Documents Folder > Object Name > Record Name

Example
Salesforce Documents Folder > Accounts > Burlington Textiles

Every time you view a record with our component a new folder will be created in Dropbox using the pattern above if one did not exist before. If it already exists we will display the contents of that folder.

Additional users

When another user with a license visits the page they will be prompted to connect to Dropbox once connected they will need access to the Salesforce Documents Folder created during the setup process simply share that via Dropbox.com with the user.
