How do matching rules work?
In the Mappings page on the Eventbrite Settings tab, we offer two options for how you match incoming Eventbrite Attendee and Order information to contacts or leads in Salesforce: Email or Salesforce Matching Rules.
Email:
Matches on email only. If more than one Salesforce record is found, it will relate Eventbrite data and map data to the more recently modified record.
Salesforce Matching and Duplicate Rules:
Matching and duplication rules are standard Salesforce features that can be used to find matching contacts and leads with our integration. While we offer some best practices for using Salesforce Matching Rules with our integration, the actual setup and management of the rules are outside the scope of what we support. If you need help, please check with your Salesforce administrator or consultant. If you don't have one of those, we can provide a recommended partner that can work with you to help.
If you are familiar with matching rules and are looking to set them up yourself, we strongly recommend they are set up and tested outside of our product to make sure they work. Check Matching Rules: To help further we have provided a simple way to check your matching rule against. Once matching rules are set up in our field mappings, you will have a Check Matching Rule feature. For more information and to see an illustration please click here.
