Why am I getting a "Developer script exception" email about the eb4sfGeneral scheduled job?
This error is safe to fix yourself and does not affect your event, order or attendee data. The eb4sfGeneral job is a small background task that checks your Events Made Easy (Eventbrite) licence twice a day. It has nothing to do with the primary sync.
The email from Salesforce will look something like this:
Scheduled job 'eb4sfGeneral' threw unhandled exception. Dependent class is invalid and needs recompilation ... DML operation Delete not allowed on PermissionSetAssignment
Why it happens
When our package is installed, Salesforce creates a special system user for it, and the eb4sfGeneral job is scheduled under that user. That user has no permission sets. If something in your org later causes Salesforce to recompile our code (a Salesforce release, a permission change, a package upgrade), the recompile runs as the job's owner. Because the system user can't manage permission set assignments, the recompile fails and the job throws the error above.
Note: the "Submitted By" column on the Scheduled Jobs page shows the job owner. If it shows a user named after the package rather than a person in your org, this is the cause.
How to fix it
Rescheduling the job as a Salesforce System Administrator re-submits it under your user, which has the permissions needed.
1. Open Scheduled Jobs:
In Setup, type Scheduled Jobs in the Quick Find box and open the page.
2. Find eb4sfGeneral:
Look for the job named eb4sfGeneral in the list.
3. Click Manage:
Click the Manage link next to the job. This opens the schedule for editing.
4. Reschedule:
Click Reschedule Job. The job is now re-submitted under your user, and "Submitted By" will show your name.
The error emails should stop from the next run. If you see another one, contact us and forward the email.
Note: a future package upgrade may recreate the job under the system user again. If the emails return after an upgrade, repeat the steps above.
