Can I manually link an Eventbrite Event to a Salesforce Campaign?

To duplicate Eventbrite attendee data to Salesforce campaigns, most customers enable the auto-create Salesforce Campaign feature. This creates a new Salesforce campaign for each incoming event, and links it to the event. If enabled, we will also create campaign members from all attendees and keep their campaign member status in sync with their attendee status when the primary sync runs (hourly or as scheduled).

You can also manually link an Eventbrite event in Salesforce to an existing Salesforce campaign. Again, if the option to update member statuses is enabled, this will update them when the sync runs.

To manually link a Salesforce campaign to your event:

  • If needed, ensure that updating of Salesforce campaign members is enabled - https://b12.d.pr/r5VwXA
  • Open the Eventbrite Event in Salesforce
  • Click on event details
  • In the Salesforce campaign section, click Link Campaign - https://b12.d.pr/BowGSE
  • Wait for the primary sync to run or click Sync Now in Eventbrite Settings.

Matching Events to Salesforce Campaigns

We find linked campaigns by storing the event ID on a custom field added to the Salesforce Campaign object: Eventbrite Event ID (eb4sf__Eventbrite_Event_Id__c). We don't match by Campaign name or other campaign fields.

Bulk manual matching: If autocreate is enabled and you have added the Eventbrite ID to that campaign field, when the sync pulls down an event for the first time, we will link that campaign to the Event for you. This may be useful for setting up existing Eventbrite events when you first connect, given that autocreate will create duplicates for those existing campaigns.

We recommend testing this thoroughly, as it is more complex than using our manual link component.

  • Get the event ID:
    • If the event is already availble in Salesforce: https://jmp.sh/hYnFObC7
    • If the event hasn't yet synced to Salesforce:
      • Log into Eventbrite's website and open the dashboard for your event
      • Copy the ID from the URL after the "eid=".
        Example: https://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=1000502428697
  • On the Salesforce campaign, copy that event ID in to the Eventbrite Event ID field.
  • Enable and configure auto-create campaigns
  • Run the primary syncin Eventbrite Settings or click Sync Now on a single campaign.
