Why are records being held.

Our integrations make use of Apex jobs, so if you are seeing delays in either direction, there is a chance the job has not been completed or is held.

Salesforce Apex Jobs are background operations (like scheduled Apex, batch processes, or queued Apex) that run asynchronously on the platform. Instead of executing immediately as soon as you trigger them, these jobs are placed into a queue. Salesforce’s system will then process each job when resources become available to handle it. This design ensures that no single job overwhelms the shared resources of the Salesforce cloud. In most cases, jobs start very quickly after being queued, so you might not notice any delay at all. However, there are times when Apex jobs can be delayed in processing.

If you are seeing an Apex Job holding for a very long time, this is typically a Salesforce platform issue. The only real solution is to contact Salesforce and let them know how the Apex Jobs are holding. They will then be able to advise further.

How can I purge data from Mailchimp?

If you need to remove Mailchimp data from Salesforce, this does not affect your Salesforce standard data like contacts or leads we have a purge option. What is a 500 error?

It is rare, but you may receive the following error: "Internal Server Error","status":500,"detail":"A deep, internal error has occurred during the processing of your request. Please contact support."

This is an error from Mailchimp's servers. Our integration will restart the sync it was performing during the outage, so you usually do not need to do anything.

How should I test when working with a sandbox?

When working with a Salesforce sandbox, it’s crucial to handle your data with extra caution. We strongly advise against connecting your actual Mailchimp account unless your testing requires live data. Even in such cases, proceed with caution.

Instead, we recommend signing up for a free Mailchimp account for testing purposes: Sign up for Mailchimp.

If you must test with your actual Mailchimp account, please note that upon installing our product and connecting for the first time, we will copy your Mailchimp data into Salesforce. This data will be stored in our custom objects.

Why can't I add or remove Mailchimp components to my page layouts?

Our automated process to set up or remove components from your page layouts may not work. Typically this is because:

1. Permissions
2. Lightning Page Activation
3. Other components have been added or conflict.

If you want to set up the page yourself, you can use the steps in our interactive demo. To remove the component, you just need to do the reverse.

Can I be notified when there is a new system message?

Yes! Open the Mailchimp Settings tab and then the Maintenance page. Click the drop down in the upper right and then the cog icon. This will open Maintenance Settings, where you can set an email address to receive system notifications.
