If Double Opt-In is enabled on the audience in Mailchimp, the data wizard adds new and reactivated members with a Pending status, not Subscribed. Mailchimp sends each of them a confirmation email, and they become Subscribed once they confirm.
Where Pending members show up:
Pending members are included in the Total Created and Total Updated counts in the wizard results, so they are not flagged separately. Mailchimp has no screen that lists Pending members, but you can report on them in Salesforce by filtering Mailchimp Members on Status equals Pending.
Importing contacts who have already given consent:
To skip the confirmation email, turn Double Opt-In off in the Mailchimp audience settings, run the import, then turn it back on.
Note: The wizard cannot change the status of a member already set to pending. Members left as Pending by an earlier run will need to confirm, or be corrected by Mailchimp support.
