How do segments work?

Emma audience segments are controlled by rules that dynamically group your audience based upon custom fields contained in your Emma Audience, as well as several other actions like joining lists or clicking links. 

Both our import wizard or field mappings features allow you to quickly and easily create Emma custom fields right from Salesforce, and immediately map them to Salesforce fields. This means you can use Salesforce field data in segmentation rules.

Once the new custom fields have been added to your Emma subscriber list by the wizard or mapping, you can build your segments in Emma, with this guide from Emma support.
