FAQs

How does the Campaign Monitor tab work in Salesforce?

The Campaign Monitor tab gives Salesforce users direct access to Campaign Monitor without needing a separate login. It works a bit like single sign-on: whoever opens the tab sees Campaign Monitor through the connected user's credentials, which you can check via the General Settings tab in sync settings. Understanding how the tab controls access is key to getting the right experience for each user in your org.

The Solution

When a Salesforce user opens the Campaign Monitor tab, they access Campaign Monitor as the connected user configured in your sync settings. This means, by default, all users with access to the tab share the same Campaign Monitor view and permissions.

If you want a specific Salesforce user to have a more restricted view, you can set an override user for them. An override user is a different Campaign Monitor user with a separate level of access to the connected user. This lets you tailor what individual Salesforce users can see and do in Campaign Monitor without changing the connected user for everyone.

To control who has access to the Campaign Monitor tab in the first place, assign the appropriate SendIT permission set to each user: Campaign Monitor Full Access, Standard Access, or Limited Access.
