FAQs
How do I link Salesforce users to a Campaign Monitor user?
Campaign Monitor's permission model works differently to Salesforce's. Rather than creating a Campaign Monitor user for each Salesforce user, you can link multiple Salesforce users to a single Campaign Monitor user. Think of a Campaign Monitor user a bit like a Salesforce profile: one user with a defined set of permissions that you assign to many people.
The Solution
To link Salesforce users to a Campaign Monitor user:
- Go to User Security Settings in the Campaign Monitor app
- Select one or more Salesforce users from the list
- Click the Link Campaign Monitor User button
- Choose the Campaign Monitor client
- Select the Campaign Monitor user within that client you want to link to
- Click Link User
The linked Campaign Monitor email address is stored on the Salesforce User record. Once linked, that Salesforce user will see Campaign Monitor through the permissions of the linked Campaign Monitor user, rather than the connected user.
This is particularly useful for controlling access without needing to create and manage lots of separate Campaign Monitor user accounts.
