How can I change the sync user?

Our integration requires an admin user in both Campaign Monitor and Salesforce. If one or both of those users change, you may need to update our sync settings.

Salesforce Sync User

This is the user against whom our sync will run in Salesforce. We recommend they have a system administrator profile. They will also need our full permission set—see this article.

To change the Salesforce Sync User;

  1. The Salesforce user needs to click here to open the sync settings page.
  2. Next to the Salesforce Sync User, click the icon.
  3. A modal will appear to allow them to save the change.

Campaign Monitor

The Campaign Monitor user allows us to access Campaign Monitor from Salesforce.
Before you change this setting, please ensure the user belongs to the currently connected Campaign Monitor account and has full access. From Salesforce: 

  1. The user needs to click here to go to the sync settings page.
  2. A dropdown is next to the sync now button on the top right of the screen.
  3. Once clicked, a sub-menu will appear, click on Reconnect to Campaign Monitor.
  4. You can enter your new Campaign Monitor details.

Only the authentication details will be removed from Salesforce when you reconnect using this method. All other settings will remain. If you have multiple Campaign Monitor clients ensure you select the same ones as before. Any Campaign Monitor client not selected will be removed from Salesforce.
