Why can't I link a CM Campaign to a Salesforce Campaign?
Linking a Campaign Monitor Campaign to a Salesforce Campaign is straightforward once the correct permissions and settings are in place. Users who will link campaigns will need the following permissions and settings. Learn more about managing users in Salesforce Help.

Assign a Permission Set (Required)
- Ensure that the user has one of the following permission sets assigned:
- Campaign Monitor - Standard Access
- Campaign Monitor - Full Access
- These permission sets include all the necessary field-level permissions and additional settings required for integration.

Adjust Campaign Object Permissions
- Users who will link campaigns must have Read, Create, and Edit permissions on the Salesforce Campaign object. You do not need to add field-level permissions for our custom fields.
- These permissions are not automatically applied and must be manually adjusted in Profiles or Permission Sets.
- Enable the Marketing User Checkbox
The Marketing User checkbox grants additional campaign-related permissions in Salesforce.

- Search Users in Setup Quick Find and click Users
- Edit the user’s record.
- Check the Marketing User checkbox and save.
When the above configuration is complete, our code will be able to update the Campaign Monitor Campaign ID field on the Salesforce campaign and update campaign stats and members during the primary sync.
